Team Building Tidbits 1
🖊️ The Marker Pass
Welcome to Team Building Tidbits, a quick-hit blog series from Xtreeme Challenge designed to help you bring easy, effective team-building activities into any meeting, team huddle, or group gathering—no special setup, no stress, and all the fun.
Each activity takes 5 minutes or less and uses items you already have around the office. Because sometimes, the best way to build a stronger team is with a pen, a prompt, and a good laugh.
🖊️ The Marker Pass
Time Needed: 5 Minutes
Supplies: One marker (or any pen) and a timer
Great For: Icebreakers, energizers, or quick team bonding
What It Is:
Looking for a quick, low-pressure way to spark connection in your group? The Marker Pass is a fast-paced sharing game that gets your team smiling, talking, and learning fun, quirky things about one another. It works with groups big or small and fits perfectly into any meeting or kickoff.
How to Play:
Gather your team in a circle (real or virtual!).
Pick someone to start with the marker.
Set a timer for 60–90 seconds.
The person holding the marker shares a fun or random fact about themselves.
They then pass the marker to the next person, who does the same.
Keep going until everyone has had a turn or time runs out.
Once everyone has shared, do a quick second round where each person tries to recall one fun fact someone else shared.
Sample Prompts to Get the Ball Rolling:
"I once met a celebrity at the airport."
"I’ve eaten crickets on purpose."
"I still sleep with my childhood stuffed animal."
"I can whistle really loud with no fingers."
"I’ve broken the same bone twice."
Why It Works:
⚡ Quick & Energizing – A fast way to wake up the room
😄 Lighthearted Fun – Sparks laughter and natural conversation
🤝 Team Bonding – Builds trust and empathy
🖇️ Zero Setup – Perfect for last-minute meetings or breakout moments
When to Use It:
First thing Monday morning
Before or after lunch
Kicking off a retreat or training
When a new team member joins
